Hi Long,

Is it Coherent CUBE? You may ask Coherent  for a quote. You'll find its 
probably way less than half of the Leica price. But From Leica you get all 
the service and guarantee and minimum downtime.
For a microscopy facility I'd go for Leica solution.
If it's my own microscope I'd consider bypassing Leica. But remember that 
you need additional optical fiber, laser coupling and probably some parts 
inside the scanhead. And don't forget the laser control and changes in the 
software settings. So maybe the official way is the only solution for you. 
Replacing the laser is so much simpler than adding a new one...

Right now we are planning to add 405nm laser line to our Leica SP5 II 
confocal system. I got a quote from the Leica rep but would like to know if 
that is the best price. I wonder if anyone can share your experience/quote
