Hi all, my colleague Pina Colarusso is interested in retaining somebody for
her expanding imaging facility. We do a fair bit of imaging here at the
University of Calgary, and we are growing our user base and capabilities
(expanding techniques etc.). We have the crazy idea of actually educating
our users on how to use the equipment properly so they take scientifically
useful images. To further this, PIna has an imaging staff for development,
training and education, but she needs another pair of hands to help meet
demand. Anybody with multiphoton/confocal experience might want to check
this position out. It's a good learning opportunity as we do a huge variety
of techniques around here, so you'd get exposure to a lot of systems and
samples. Feel free to email myself or Pina if you have questions.

Here's Pina's official posting:

The University of Calgary is looking for an optical microscopist for an
expanding imaging centre. We are looking for someone who enjoys supporting
researchers, from training to developing new applications in collaboration
with different groups. Microscopy education is a priority and you will be
working with other optical imaging specialists on developing an education
programme for the local medical researcher community. Good problem solving
skills and patience are a must. Experience with standard techniques such as
confocal and multiphoton is required and experience with superresolution
microscopy is a plus. A PhD or Master's is desirable though we will
consider any candidate who has a track record in helping researchers solve
problems using microscopy. This position has excellent prospects for
long-term stability (10 years). If you would like more information, please
email me.

Thanks for your attention.
