I'd like to know if anyone has a protocol for preparing and using the stain Uvitex (also known by many other names: http://www.chemicalbook.com/CASEN_7128-64-5.htm). I have a researcher who ordered it to stain crayfish intestines. However it came as a solid powder rather than a solution, and without any instructions. I've never heard of the stain before and there is very little obvious information out on the internet. Based on its chemical structure, I'm thinking that they need to make a concentrated stock solution in a non-polar solvent such as DMF or DMSO. But I'd like to know if anyone has a standard protocol for this.
