A while back I asked if anyone knew of an introduction to fiber optics that was
written in "baby-talk", for those of us who have forgotten all their physics and
who faint at the sight of an integral sign. In case anyone else is interested,
there is such a book. It is "Technician's guide to Fiber Optics", by Donald J.
Sterling, Delmar Publishers, Albany NY, c. 1987. It explains the subject in an
intuitive manner and seems to cover the basics.
