We have a Sony Mavigraph color printer which we are very pleased with. The
prints are about $ 1.75 which can get a little costly when people get an itchy
trigger finger trying to get the perfect print but the quality is very
good. We have had the prints accepted for publication in Applied and
Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology and Bioengineering. The prints we
used were black and white and had scalebars but no text. To add labels we
printed text on peel off sticky paper on the laser printer, cut them out and
stuck them on. The text (at least on the Bio-Rad system) is a little small and
not very well defined to use directly.
