     Nope, the codonics NP1600 (my present favorite color printer) does not
     contain a "laserjet" print engine.  It does print very nice b/w and is
     used extensively in the EM and radiology market for such.  The NP1600
     does contain a SUN UNIX computer so if you are clever enough you could
     probably redirect files to networked less expensive printers.  This is
     way beyond my UNIX skills.

Subject: Codonics dye sublimation printer

Can the Codonics NP 1600 dye sublimation printer be used as standard b/w
laser printer as well (using standard paper of course)?  If so, is it
still more expensive to run (using a color engine for a b/w job)?
In other words, can the printer recognize the type of job and if it is a
standard text file to act as a laser printer?
