For those of you who weren't at Neuroscience and are interested in new confocal instruments, here are the latest releases from Meridian:

1/ The Meridian InSight Point is a new kind of confocal laser scanning microscope which combines the convenience of confocal ocular viewing with the peak resolution of a point scanning, point detection system. It is supplied with our InSight IQ computer and image analysis system for 3 color acquisition, reconstruction and analysis of data.

2/ Then there is the Meridian InSight Basic, which can add confocal capability to a variety of existing microscope imaging systems and is one of the least expensive confocal options available. For Mac lovers, this can be combined with the Image Explorer system from Signal Analytics to add a complete range of computer control, image acquisition and data analysis features for a very modest additional cost.

3/ Meridian Instruments also makes the Ultima, a premium confocal laser scanning system. This combines stage scanning and mirror scanning; which gives the user fast, top resolution imaging of small specimens, while eliminating the 'field of view' limitation on image size when viewing larger specimens with high NA objectives. The Ultima has recently been fitted with a third PMT for three color imaging; a Krypton laser for wider choice of excitation wavelengths; and with new photoactivation capabilities. For Zeiss lovers, the Ultima is now available on a Zeiss Axiovert platform.

Anyone who missed these products at Neuroscience will get a second chance at ASCB in Washington DC from December 9th to 14th. Alternatively, contact us directly or get information on our international offices at:
