VACANCY IN THE ELECTRON MICROSCOPE UNIT, UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
Electron Microscopist (Lecturer)
The Electron Microscope Unit is a service unit with a strong academic
component and some of the most advanced facilities in the world for
microscopy and microanalysis. There is a vacancy for an Electron
Microscopist (Lecturer equivalent) to join three other academic staff
members. The position is for three years, with the possibility of a
further two depending on funding and need. The applicant will be expected
to maintain an active research programme and participate in the teaching,
administration and research support activities of the Unit. The successful
applicant will have a PhD or equivalent, proven research ability and
potential, and extensive experience in biological electron microscopy.
Experience with animal tissues would be an advantage, as would research
interests encompassing advanced techniques such as cryo-preparation or
immuno-labelling. The ability to work as a member of a team is essential,
as is some experience in lecturing or teaching.
Salary in the range $42,198 to $50,111 (Australian), with superannuation.
