CALL FOR PAPERS
 
Following the successful 1st Erlangen Symposium "Advances in Digital  Image
Communication"  in June 1995, the 2nd Erlangen Symposium will again be held
at the Telecommunications Institute of  University  of  Erlangen-Nuremberg.
The   Symposium   will   consist   of  a  series  of  invited  lectures  by
internationally  renowned  speakers,  as   well   as   contributed   talks.
Contributions  are  encouraged  that  discuss  advances  in  topic areas of
current interest, such as
 
    - Image communication over packet networks
    - Mobile and wireless video
    - Investigations related to new compression standards
    - Image coding based on three-dimensional models
    - Joint audio and video processing
 
Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings  that  will
be  available  at  the  time  of the symposium. The lecture program will be
augmented by demonstrations of ongoing  work  in  the  Image  Communication
Group of the Telecommunications Institute. The program will conclude with a
banquet at historic Atzelsberg Castle.
 
The symposium site is a convenient taxi-drive from Nuremberg  Airport  with
direct  flights to major European cities. By train or car, Erlangen is less
than 2 hours from Munich, the site of ICASSP-97. The 2nd Erlangen Symposium
will take place on the day right after ICASSP-97.
