Technical exhibition
        As part of the combined conference, an extensive technical exhibition
        will be held during the conference. Registration, social events,
        refreshments and the poster session will also be held at the conference
        site.

           Half-day short courses of the following
           topics will be offered on Sunday,
           April 27, 1997.

Contribution and Publication of Extended Abstracts
        Papers are invited for oral and poster presentation from the fields
        indicated by the scientific program and related areas.  Deadline for
        submission of abstract(s) is Feburary 28, 1997.  A two-page extended
        abstract is required for each presentation.  Extended Abstract will be
        published as part of second issue of CellVision in 1997, and will be
        available at the opening of the conference. Authors are encouraged to
        submit full paper(s) to J. Microscopy after the conference. A
        proceeding book, entitled "Focus on Multidimensional Microscopy, Vol 3"
        will be published after the meeting by World Scientific Publishing Ltd.
        (NJ, USA).  Manuscript submission deadline for proceeding book is
        June 30 1997. Authors are encouraged to contribute to this monograph
        series.  If available, authors please provide fax number in case of
        questions regarding your manuscript. The organizing committee will make
        a selection of the abstracts for oral presentation.  By the end of
        February 1997 notification will be mailed to all registrants and the
        program will be posted on-line at http://corn.eng.buffalo.edu/FMM97.

Reception
        Reception will be held at the Buffalo Downtown Hilton
        at 18:00 on Sunday, April 27, 1997.

Registration and Conference Fee
        The conference fee is US$250.00 (#160), which includes documentation,
        abstract book and refreshments during breaks.  A pre-registration fee
        of US$200.00 (#130), is available when postmarked before Feburary 28,

        The Buffalo Downtown Hilton provides substantially reduced room rates
        for conference participants of Focus on Multidimensional Microscopy '97.
        Hotel accommodation at the Buffalo Downtown Hilton is offered on a first
        come, first served basis.  A block of 20 rooms priced at US$69.00/night
        are available for student participants. These rooms can be shared.

Student Helper Needed
        The conference needs helpers for operating audio/visual equipment.
        Students are welcome to apply for the job in exchange for free
        registration. Each student will only take care of A/V equipment in a
        half-day session. Application letters should be addressed to the
        conference office in Buffalo, NY, USA.

Student Travel awards
        A number of student travel awards (amount will be determined by the
        total industrial contribution ) will be available to outstanding
        students in microscopy. A biography and two reference letters should
        be sent to the conference office in Buffalo, NY, USA.

Dinner Banquet and US and Canadian Visa Requirement
        Dinner banquet will be held at magnificent Skylon Tower overlooking
        the majestic Niagara Falls in Canada.  Canadian visa and US re-entry
        visa may be required for those participations intending to joint the
        dinner banquet. Please contact the US and Canadian Consulate Office
        in your country. The cost for the banquet includes bus transportation
        between the Buffalo Hilton and Niagara Falls. Three hours of free time
        will be allowed for touring  the majestic Niagara Falls.

About Niagara-Buffalo Fall region
        Buffalo is located at the center of the international region known as
        Niagara-Buffalo. Greater Buffalo is within a 500 mile radius of over
        48 percent of the population of the United States and 62 percent of
        Canada's population. The City of Buffalo is conveniently located off
        the New York State Thruway and is served by major airlines from all
        parts of the country. Buffalo is a easy two-hour drive from Toronto,
        Canada. The heart of downtown Buffalo is only a ten minute drive from
        the Greater Buffalo International Airport. Niagara Falls is a unique
