Hi

1) what software works best and 2) the preferred platform (SUN or
> SGI).

Following my e-mail last week asking a similar ie what software and what
platform, for Confocal imaging, especially with Bio-Rad files.

Here is a summary of my e-mail this week;

AVS seemed to come out very well and is the most versatile, I have been
talking to AVS quiet heavily and am going to there UK head office next Tuesday.
Also here in Cambridge through a University deal buying AVS is I believe
quiet cheap.
Image Space also seemed to have a good write up, with quiet a number of people
using it.
I have sent Molecular Dynamics and AVS test files to image, and a couple
of simple tasks to do to assess there speed, and useablity.

I would also like to thank Chris Pudney who has written an AVS module
for reading Bio-Rad files into AVS, and kindly give a copy of it to me.
