Hello,

can anyone give empirical values for maximum imaging depth with
objectives of "extremely large" and "large" working distances and
high numeric apertures?

(One representative water immersion objective has WD 2 mm and NA=0.9,
another WD 0.22 mm and NA=1.2. Presumably light-scatter and -absorption
will always set the limit in the first case, while working distance OR
other factors may do so in the second.)

Examples might give specimen, LSM, laser conditions, excitation and emission
wavelength, detection mode (descanned or nondescanned), maximum
imaging depth and type of deterioration (loss of intensity or contrast).
Alternatively, I will summarize from relevant references sent off-list.

Thanks in advance for any answers, Finn-Mogens.
