You might want to look at the Bitplane software
(http://www.bitplane.ch). My company is the US distributor, so not
unbiased.

Some notes:

- The Bitplane software runs on Silicon Graphics machines.

- In order to measure the cell volume, you must first segment (that is,
decide what voxels are cell and which are not cell). This is probably
the hardest part of the problem. If you are willing to do this manually,
there is no problem. If you want automated assistance, the results will
depend on the quality of the algorithms used.
