     Bio-Rad Laboratories has an immediate opening for a Technical Support
     Representative in the Image Analysis Group.  The Image Analysis Group
     supports several products, including Confocal and Multi-photon
     Microscopy.  This position is located at Bio-Rad Corporate Offices in
     Hercules California, the San Francisco Bay Area.

     Essential Responsibilities
     Providing support to scientists using Bio-Rad Laboratory's imaging
     instrumentation and software via telephone calls or e-mail, while
     logging those interactions in our service database.  Providing
     feedback to product management on product problems and needed
     enhancements.  Training other technical Support individuals on our
     products.

     Education
     Bachelors in a life science with an additional 2-5 years laboratory
     experience.  Masters degree or Ph.D. in a life science discipline is a
     strong plus.


     Experience
     2-5 years experience in a laboratory research environment, with
     specific experience in confocal microscopy or image analysis
     instrumentation and software.  Some experience in teaching, customer
     service or support is a strong plus.

     Skills
     Strong communication skills, in both written and spoken English.  Good
     understanding of computer equipment and software and demonstrated
     ability to learn new computer systems quickly. Strong customer service
     skills, especially over the telephone.  Ability to act independently
     without close supervision.  Specific skills in at least two of the
     following areas:  microscopy, confocal microscopy, electrophoresis gel
     imaging and analysis, fluorescence imaging, microplate reader use and
     data analysis, software engineering, computer networking.  Fluency in
     another language and familiarity with the internet are both desirable.
