Subject: Bio-Rad confocal file names changed after transfer
Author: Confocal Microscopy List <[log in to unmask]> at
Internet
Date: 28/04/99 17:49
When files were transferred to a NT workstation (so from OS/2 to NT) through
file sharing, the description in the original file somehow became part of
the file name. For example, a file called GFP01.PIC with the following
description "Z series collection (XYZ)" became "GFP01.PIC!!Z Series
collection (XYZ)", with a DOS name "GFP01~1.PIC". And the file name for
another channel would be changed from GFP02.PIC to GFP02~1.PIC, therefore
"Lasersharp" (Bio-Rad's confocal software) would no longer link these two
files.
If we transfer files to LAN drive and then to the NT workstation, everything
was fine.
Anybody have the same problem or know how to solve this?
Thanks.
Bao
