Waldir,

We recommend the exclusive use of the ALEXA-FLUR series for the
confocal.  The 488 excitaton line is nearly  the same as FITC.  The
prime advantage is in the longer times available for recording images
with the ALEX-FLUR dyes.  They do not fade anything like the FITC
compounds.  This is also true for the RITC replacement 568.
