I use both a "stick" and an Ophir Nova. The stick is great for quick
checks and comparisons. While it does not have very high accuracy (and I
don't mean that as any form of criticism) it is very consistent and is
ideal for Carl's application. The only slight disadvantage is that at
time you cannot see the display when taking a reading. It has a hold
facility but this does not help when making adjustments. The Nova is an
excellent instrument with high accuracy and the option of different
sensors for various applications. The support from the factory is
excellent (much better than the UK agent, they sent a replacement manual
FOC in less time the agent took to send an email saying they would have
to contact the factory for a price!).

**NO COMMERCIAL INTEREST OR AFFILIATION**

Try Ophir Electronics. The power meter worked quite well for me for
wavelengths across the visible spectrum.

Cheers!

Mike

Hi All,

Does anyone have suggestions for an optical power meter ($300-$400?)
that would work for keeping track of laser outpput of a confocal,
particularly at the objective?

Thanks very much,

Carl
