You have to be careful when doing this with compressed avi's. If you
have a few rounds of stitching movies together the lossy compression at
each stage will result in truly awful images. You are going to get a
much better final product if you keep the data in an uncompressed (or
at least a lossless compressed) format until the creation of the final
complete movie.
