2. Call for papers for the Second Biennial Conference of the Society 
for Philosophy of Science in Practice (SPSP), University of 
Minnesota, 18-20 June 2009.  The SPSP aims to create an 
interdisciplinary community of scholars who approach the philosophy 
of science with a focus on scientific practice and the practical uses

3. The Oxford University Press announces a new book, Everyday 
Practice of Science: Where Intuition and Passion Meet Objectivity and 
Logic, by Frederick Grinnell -- "an insider's view of real-life

4. The Saint Louis Area Philosophy of Science Association will hold 
its first conference (SLAPSA1) on Saturday, Febraruary 28, 2009, 
Washington University.  There is no registration required, but they

5. Call for papers for the "Origin of Species at 150: A Celebratory 
Conference," November 21-24, 2009, University of Toronto.  Five 
multi-disciplinary symposia have been organized; they are also
