TWO TEMPORARY LECTURESHIPS in the
DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE
UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE

**HISTORY of MODERN MEDICINE and BIOLOGY**
The Department intends to appoint a Temporary Lecturer in History of Modern
Medicine and Biology for two years from 1 September 2001, while Dr Nick
Hopwood is on research leave. The Wellcome Trust-funded appointment will be
on the scale £17,755 to £23,256 p.a.

**PHILOSOPHY of SCIENCE**
The Department intends to appoint a Temporary Lecturer in Philosophy of
Science, broadly construed, for ten months from 1 October 2001, while Dr
Martin Kusch is on research leave. The successful candidate will not be
restricted to any particular area of specialisation, but those with
interests in social, political and/or psychological aspects of science are
especially encouraged to apply. The appointment will be on the scale
£17,755 to £23,256 or £21, 435 to £33,058 p.a., depending on age and
experience.
