I second this information.  =o)

Be careful, though, because even new phone are shipping with pre-froyo
versions of Android.  It's all about the OS version, not the newness of the
handset.  Older handsets may be upgradable or have upgraded to Froyo, but
others just can't because of their underpowered hardware or because Motorola
or Samsung or LG or HTC or whomever manufactured it decided it wasn't worth
their time to support that handset's user base.
