Hi everybody,
In my experience, HyD X detectors start to show comets in the images after being severely overexposed to light. If afterwards one lets them image a standard fluorescent sample for a while (e.g., an hour) the comets gradually disappear and eventually go away completely. Any sample with a significant fluorescent signal can be used for this purpose. I hope that helps.
