Hi,
IPLab software also controls all of these things. It is available on both
Mac and Win and through the use of easy to write macros you can create and
control multidimensional acquisitions.

Subject: Re: Perkin Elmer Spinning disk under Metamorph
Hi Steve,
Here is a copy of my own answer to Gabor related to my setup:
"I am running PE Ultraview spinning disk under MM (v.6.1.5) using Multi
Dimensional Acquisition (MDA) module, which controls:
a) all firmware of the inverted Olympus IX81 microscope including the
Z-motor, nosepieces, filter cubes and condenser;
b) the Sutter Lambda 2-10 controller for the excitation and emission filter
wheels, and for the Uniblitz shutter installed into the bright field
illuminator.
c) the Orca ER (Hamamatsu) CCD camera.
d) the X-Y stage (ASI);
All these elements are hooked up to the left side port of my Olympus; "
On the right side port I have another optical setup included the
"Dual-View" (Optical Insights), CCD camera "Cascade" (Roper) and DJ-4
(Sutter). Everything controls.by MetaMorph.
I would like to make a suggestion related to your worries about control of
the laser power. Probably, you have already found yourself that you can use
your MetaMorph for neutral density filters installed into filter wheels.

Hi Gabor,
I have been chatting to Universal Imaging regarding exactly the same issue.
Being able to set up complex time lapse experiments/Macros, such as
capturing brightfield images and then a confocal image every so often would
be extremely beneficial. Sadly the Ultraview software seems a little lacking
in this respect.
I gather than MetaMorph can control camera, exposure/gain/capture and the
scan head but it would be difficult to control the laser power from
MetaMorph. If anyone have heard differently please let me know as I would
also benefit from a MetaMorph/Ultraview combination.
All the best,
Steve

Dear All
For some reasons we would like (eventually) to run our Perkin Elmer
(UltraView) spinning disk system under Metamorph. I know that in
principle it is possible to control a spinning disk system with
Metramorph (e.g. Visitech) but is there anybody who has experience with
a Perkin-Elmer/Metamorph combination? I'd very much appreciate your
comments.
Thanks Gabor
