I would think this newsgroup should just act as a go-between w/o getting
formal enuf to set up a place to send resumes (though that's a separate
issue for a broader base). Prospective employers should list their
requirements, as has been the case in the past for folks looking for
postdocs, service reps, faculty, etc.....Job-seekers should just describe
briefly what they're looking for (ie, academia, industry, etc.),
geographic restrictions, short summary of experience, etc. It's easy enuf
for people to get information from each other via email or fax after
that....
One thing that I would find useful about that besides satisfying my own
needs is that I can bring these opportunities to the attention of our
students who are not necessarily on this newsgroup....they can get some
idea of the job market in this area.
